| dc.description | The Database of Modern Icelandic Inflection (DMII) is a part of The Database of Icelandic Morphology (DIM). DIM is a multipurpose linguistic resource, created for use in language technology (LT), as a reference for the general public in Iceland, and for use in research on the Icelandic language. The term Modern Icelandic here refers to contemporary Icelandic, i.e. late 20th and 21st century usage. DMII contains inflectional paradigms, with a vocabulary of approx. 292,000 lemmas, 6.2 million inflectional forms. Uninflected words are also included. Data from DMII is currently available in two versions in CSV format for use in LT. The first version is a simple word list, containing all lemmas and inflectional forms without any analysis. The second version, Sigrún's Format, links inflectional forms to lemmas, with word class, grammatical tags, etc. Both versions are described here: https://bin.arnastofnun.is/DMII/LTdata/. The website also contains explanations of all grammatical categories present in the data: https://bin.arnastofnun.is/DMII/infl-system/. The data is updated every 24 hours. More datasets from DIM for use in LT are in preparation. |
